Job Description
The Site Engineer is responsible for various tasks related to the construction project. The requirements for this position are as follows:
- Detail study of specifications & drawings
- Prepare & coordinate inspections prior to casting of any structure elements or installation of architectural items
- Highlight and present discrepancies of architectural and structural drawings to consultants and project manager/site manager
- Advise site supervisors on findings and comments as instructed by RE or RTO on site
- Advise and discuss any items/issues arising with sub-subcontractors on drawing discrepancies and work methodology
- Check and inspect all installed items (structural or architectural) prior to requesting RE/RTO site inspection for casting or installation
- Collate all reports and inspection forms carried out on site necessary for installation and documentation
- Assist supervisors and/or sub-contractors in the formation of levels, settle site discrepancies, and site constraints within the capacity of an engineer
- Assist in overseeing working methods in accordance with safety requirements with advice from WSHO when in doubt
- Attend meetings held to resolve discrepancies and site issues arising on structural or architectural items/elements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent accredited by the Professional Engineer Board
- 2-5 years of working experience in an established building construction company, preferably in projects involving school and institutions construction
- Excellent interpersonal skills and analytical ability to handle clients and coordinate work
- Initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to multitask
- Experience in pre-cast and architectural trades will be advantageous
