Job Description

• Performing replacement of parts and assemblies for marine mechanical equipment.
• Working from service manuals, maintenance manuals, and facility equipment schematics under the guidance of a service engineer.
• Completing tasks with minimum supervision using experience and good judgment.
• Operating all maintenance equipment and exercising all construction equipment safely for their intended purposes.
• Carrying out removal and installation work on board vessels and providing general servicing and repair in the workshop.
• Delegating jobs to relevant team members and closely adhering to the projected repair and manpower plan.
• Leading a team of service technicians and planning, organizing, and executing repairs, maintenance, and reconditioning jobs on board vessels in shipyards, ports, anchorage, or during voyages and offshore.
• Taking necessary measurements and readings to provide a repair plan, estimated repair time, and the required consumables and raw materials for the job.
• Maintaining accurate records of all repair and maintenance work performed on the marine mechanical equipment, including any parts replaced or repaired.
• Performing hands-on work in rectifying defects and maintaining mechanical or diesel components.
• Interacting with customers during work execution.
• Providing internal and external progress updates on the assigned work.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of service procedures and policies.
• Monitoring service performance metrics and working with the team to identify areas for improvement.
• Strictly adhering to safe work procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Following safety procedures and using proper protective equipment when working with marine mechanical equipment and other equipment.
• Ensuring an adequate level of cleanliness and maintenance of tools and equipment in the workshop.
• Accomplishing all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
• Communicating and discussing work execution with supervisors/technicians.
