Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in all aspects of work for Asia Compliance
- Assisting with Counterparty data entry
- Ensuring the maintenance and regular update of relevant records on internal systems
- Performing KYC AML checks/onboarding enquiries for service providers/vendors/non-trading banks/vessels, etc
- Assisting with the management of internal onboarding by determining the level of documentation and information required during onboarding depending on risk factors, etc
- Assisting with on-going client screening and periodical reviews by monitoring and reviewing daily reports for any changes to counterparties and their directors/owners who have been subject to due diligence searches
- Assisting the Head of APAC Compliance in ensuring on-boarding procedures continue to meet legal and best practice obligations
- Analysing different jurisdictions in both a regulated and unregulated environment, including “high-risk” jurisdictions with a focus on UN, US, and EU sanctions
- Assisting with Vessel tracking in relation to sanctioned jurisdiction cargoes, ensuring a clear record is kept of vessels, their movements, load and discharge ports, terminals, and jurisdictions that allow such a product
- Keeping abreast of, and contributing towards Singapore regulatory and industry best practice
- Assisting in the review of compliance processes and policies as required, to keep compliant with applicable global rules and regulations
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree ideally with a legal background
- Preferable to be familiar with KYC risk intelligence screening applications such as World Check
- Strong command of the Chinese language is required to deal with Chinese counterparties and documentation
