Job Description
A Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, operation, and improvement of an organization’s facilities, ensuring that they are safe, functional, and well-maintained. They manage a team of maintenance and custodial staff, and work closely with various departments to meet their facility needs.
The key responsibilities of a Facilities Manager include:
- Developing and implementing facilities management policies and procedures
- Supervising maintenance and custodial staff, and ensuring efficient use of resources
- Planning and coordinating facility repair and maintenance activities
- Managing facility budgets and expenses
- Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand and meet facility requirements
- Overseeing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services related to facility management
Applicants for the Facilities Manager position should possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
