Job Description
1. Purchase Maritime Stores & Provisions for assigned vessels, from both local and overseas suppliers, manufacturers & vendors.
2. Perform all related purchasing functions, such as requesting for quotations, evaluating offers, issuing purchase orders, and following up with delivery.
3. Research for the requested products both locally and overseas depending on calling ports, review quality, identify the most appropriate suppliers, determine availability, perform comparisons, and negotiate pricing, establish delivery patterns & timelines.
4. Work closely with vessels and management to monitor and improve the supply chain purchasing process, specifications, and requirements.
5. Keep update of purchase order into company costing system.
6. Update vender list of suppliers and subcontractors, build up and update direct contact with local and overseas makers.
7. Prepare documents including delivery order and apply related permits for ship’s repairs at request.
8. Assist with operations arrangement, such as coordination with ship’s agent, superintendent, sub-contractors, and our repair team for daily operation if necessary.
