Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Look for potential contractors and verify with relevant departments on purchasing requirements, mainly on contractor works relating to maintenance and upgrading of plant facilities.
- Study job scope raised by Engineering department and analyze technical data and specifications needed.
- Evaluate suitability, source comparable quotes in all fields on available information.
- Provide advice to company personnel on the nature and function of parts equipment.
- Liaise with contractor representatives regarding specifications, costs, inspection, and issues arising related to parts equipment.
- Effective sourcing and negotiate with vendors for the best value, lead-time, and terms.
- Monitor purchasing trends to avoid over-purchase.
- Prepare Purchase Requisition, Purchase Order, and follow up on the approval process and PO closure.
Requirements:
- Familiar with procurement on Chemical Plant / Process Plant.
- Knowledge of engineering procurement.
